Manuel Antonio National Park is the jewel of Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. Located in Quepos (southwest of San Jose), Manuel Antonio is the perfect destination for families, friends, eco-tourists, photographers and those seeking a tropical escape.

The park itself is accessible for self-guided tours. You can also book guided tours, night walks, canopy tours, ATV outings, kayaking, rafting and a catamaran cruise.

The park has three beautiful beaches that is flanked by a dense rainforest that is filled with local wildlife. You can expect to meet monkeys, iguanas, toucans and a number of other bird species.

Forbes magazine named Manuel Antonio one of the world’s most beautiful parks in 2011.

There are excellent hiking and photo safari opportunities within the park, so it’s a great idea to bring comfortable hiking shoes and a trekking pole.

Depending on the time of year (typically May through November), Manuel Antonio is in its rainy season. During this ‘green’ season, afternoon showers are typical. A rain poncho is typically sufficient rain gear for visitors. If you plan to spend your day on the beach, be sure to pack sunblock and your favorite sandals.

The park is open every day but Tuesday (including holidays) and it’s best to select your tours and experience online. You can do so at the official website, https://manuelantoniopark.com/.
